Through my color theory class, I was able to gain experience working with the complexities of color. This series of paintings was structured to demonstrate how color interacts with its environment. When trying to replicate colors, it is important to acknowledge the impact of light, reflection and refraction. The purpose of this project was to train the eye into seeing colors everywhere, from the dark purple shadows to the light yellow glares. It was more important for the artwork to represent colors realistically than accurately.
