This piece integrates a montage of colored paper cutouts together in order to create a puzzle-like pattern. After establishing the outline of my subject, color pencil, Indian ink, and bleach were used to define the character’s features and expression. The puzzle-like design is supposed to extenuate the subject’s fractured interest in her own work. Becoming more interested in the concerns of her peers, she has grown distracted from her own goals.
